A RECOGNIZED DISTRICT

Mr. Seago Retires as Superintendent

David Seago’s letter of resignation formally announced his "intention to retire as the superintendent of the Rains Independent School District effective June 30, 2012."

Seago has been in education for 46 years and with Rains ISD for 14 years. Several major accomplishments achieved under Seago’s leadership include the building of a new high school, new elementary school, complete refurbishment of an old school building into a new intermediate school, and the complete refurbishment of the field house into a training facility/locker room.

In his career he has coached basketball and track, and at Rains he has been a major supporter and volunteer at Rains High School’s annual Avon Rice Relays.

In retirement Seago plans to see more time on the golf course and get in some fishing. But his number one goal is to share more time with his 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He says, "Life’s too short to have bad days."  That’s his philosphy and he plans to live by it. He and wife Lynda have no plans to leave Rains County.

Rains ISD will host a retirement reception for Seago on Friday, May 18, from 3-5 PM in the board room.
