Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the Rains ISD website.  We hope you will find the information on our website helpful and informative.  Our goal is to provide students with a safe environment to receive the best education anywhere.  We desire to be a beacon on a hill for others to follow.

Rains ISD is a TEA “Recognized” school district with 1650 students and four campuses.  RISD competes in UIL activities in Region II Class 3A.  We host a variety of activities for students including bass fishing, theatre, band, robotics, vocational agriculture and many more, as well as competitive UIL academics and athletics.  It is our goal to have every student involved and connected as a member of the RISD Wildcat family.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to educate your children, and it is a responsibility we do not take lightly, but rather boldly, to prepare our students to be college and career ready.  Our staff is committed to our students and their ultimate success as a productive member of society in an ever-changing world.  We are especially thankful for the communities that make up RISD, Point, Emory and East Tawakoni.  Each community bands together for a common purpose in supporting and promoting quality education for our students.  Together we can achieve greatness and that is our destination!

We are proud of the many successes our students experience on a daily basis, and we welcome you to support our staff and students as they strive to be the best they can be.  We invite you to be a part of the pride of Rains County, Rains ISD.

“It’s a great day to be a Rains Wildcat!”

 Sincerely,

John Rouse
